Montreal · Abstract painting
Original abstract paintings and bespoke commissions from a Montreal studio.
Every commission is a collaboration — beginning with a conversation.
I work with clients, companies, and collectors to create paintings that carry meaning specific to their space, story, or moment. Each piece is original, made by hand, and comes with a written artist statement.
"I find peace and freedom through painting: the movement, the colour, the not-knowing."
Camille Favreau is a French-born, Montreal-based abstract painter. Before painting full-time with Favreau Studio, she spent years working in strategy and operations in tech, a life regimented by living and breathing metrics, constantly in search of the right answer, optimizing for results.
In the midst of all this external, frenetic movement, painting became the stable constant. The paint wanted to live a life of its own and she realised her role was to allow it, listen to what it wanted, let it materialise.
As she observed the strokes, the brushing, the flowing, the bleeding through the unprimed canvas, she realised she also started to live a life of her own. She realised she could exist in a space away from expectations and performance, and became aware of her own sensibilities, desires, values, what she wanted.
Oil and acrylic atmospheric abstract paintings emerged: gestural, chromatic, at times strong, at others more restrained.
Created in the space where paint allowed Camille to listen, play, and simply be, these paintings now invite viewers to do the same, whether with the artworks or in the rest of their lives.
Her first solo exhibit, Play as Resistance, opens in Montreal in October 2026.

Artist statement
Moving forward and staying optimistic even when things aren't perfect is how Triton was able to seize opportunities amidst challenges and thrive as a business.
The forward-looking view of the chevrons, in their intentional imperfections, deliberate asymmetry, and colourful playfulness (representative of Camille Favreau's painterly style), is a visual representation of this ethos.
This painting is the fruit de la rencontre between the artist, Camille Favreau, and Triton's team. We hope it can be a reminder of this ethos of excellence, a visual rest between meetings, or simply a pop of colour when you need it.
